A partner of Alldus are seeking a talented and highly motivated Research & Development Engineer specializing in Machine Learning to join their team on a 12-month contract basis. As an R&D Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing recommendation systems for a variety of applications, including Apps, Galleries, Games, and Music. The successful candidate will have expertise in recommendation systems, possess a Ph.D. degree, and demonstrate a strong track record of optimizing click-through rate (CTR) and conversion rate (CR). Additionally, a proven publication record in top-tier conferences/journals and a passion for staying updated with the latest AI advancements are highly desirable. This position offers an excellent day rate, provides a hybrid working arrangement in Ireland and has a high chance of extension beyond 12 months.

Responsibilities:
 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, research requirements, and develop innovative machine learning-based recommendation systems for diverse applications.

• Design, implement, and evaluate state-of-the-art recommendation algorithms, leveraging techniques such as collaborative filtering, content-based filtering, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.
• Optimize click-through rate (CTR) and conversion rate (CR) by conducting in-depth analysis of large-scale datasets and extracting actionable insights.
• Stay abreast of AI advancements and industry trends, evaluating and proposing new methodologies and approaches to enhance recommendation systems.
• Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals, contributing to the organization's thought leadership and reputation in the field.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of recommendation systems into various applications.
• Conduct rigorous experiments and A/B tests to evaluate the performance of recommendation models, iteratively improving their effectiveness.
• Develop scalable data pipelines and efficient data processing workflows to handle large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that drive customer engagement and satisfaction.
• Document research findings, methodologies, and technical specifications, ensuring clear and concise communication within the team and across departments.

Requirements:
 

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Relevant industry experience and a strong publication record in top-tier conferences/journals.
• Expertise in developing and optimizing recommendation systems, with a focus on click-through rate (CTR) and conversion rate (CR) using machine learning techniques.
• Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and relevant libraries/tools (e.g., scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy).
• Proven experience in building recommendation systems for diverse applications such as Apps, Galleries, Games, and Music.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex datasets to extract meaningful insights.
• Up-to-date knowledge of AI advancements, industry trends, and best practices, with a passion for continuous learning and self-improvement.
• Track record of publications in top-tier conferences/journals related to machine learning, recommendation systems, or AI.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, with experience in data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
• Familiarity with scalable data processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
