A leading management consulting firm in Ireland specializing in Microsoft Cloud technology, are hiring for a skilled Cloud Security Engineer. This is an immediate requirement for an initial 6 month contract with a high chance of extension.

Role Overview:
As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security, privacy, and compliance of businesses’ cloud environments, primarily on Microsoft Azure. Your responsibilities will encompass a unique blend of operations and project work, where you will implement and maintain security measures while also participating in various cloud-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:
– Cloud Security Implementation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust security measures within Microsoft Azure environments. This includes configuring security policies, access controls, encryption, logging, monitoring, and vulnerability management.
– Threat Detection and Incident Response: Proactively monitor cloud environments for potential security threats, intrusions, and vulnerabilities. Develop and execute incident response plans to effectively address and mitigate security incidents.
– Compliance and Governance: Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO, NIST) and internal security policies. Conduct periodic security assessments and audits to identify potential areas of improvement.
– Security Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud security trends, emerging threats, and best practices. Recommend and implement security enhancements to maintain the highest level of security posture.
– Cloud Architecture Review: Conduct security reviews of cloud infrastructure, applications, and solutions to identify potential security gaps and offer strategic recommendations for improvement.
– Collaborative Projects: Work closely with project teams to incorporate security principles into the design and implementation of new cloud-based solutions. Provide security expertise in project planning and execution.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
– Proven experience as a Cloud Security Engineer or a similar role with expertise in Microsoft Azure.
– Strong understanding of cloud security principles, best practices, and industry standards.
– Familiarity with security-related compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST).
– Experience with cloud security tools, such as Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, and Azure Key Vault.
– Familiarity with network security, identity and access management (IAM), and encryption technologies.
– Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and security-related tasks.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
– Certifications in cloud security (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, CompTIA Security+, CISSP) are a plus.
