Job Title: Security Engineer
Location: Dublin, Ireland (Occasional onsite visits required)
Duration: 6 months (High chance of extension)

Our client are seeking a skilled Security Engineer for an initial 6-month day rate contract. It involves a crucial project focused on migrating from Cisco ASA firewalls to Palo Alto firewalls. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the security infrastructure meets the highest standards and aligns with the organization’s objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Palo Alto Firewall Migration: Lead the migration effort from Cisco ASA firewalls to Palo Alto firewalls, ensuring a seamless transition while maintaining the highest level of security.

  • Security Infrastructure Design: Collaborate with the project team to design and implement robust security solutions using Palo Alto firewalls that align with industry best practices and meet the specific needs of the organization.

  • Onsite Support: Be available for occasional onsite visits to the client’s location in Dublin for project meetings, troubleshooting, and collaboration with the onsite team.

  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for the security infrastructure, configurations, and migration processes to facilitate knowledge transfer and future maintenance.

  • Proactive Security Measures: Implement proactive security measures, conduct regular security assessments, and recommend improvements to enhance the overall security posture.

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in working with Palo Alto firewalls is essential. Candidates must have a strong track record of successfully implementing and managing security solutions.

  • Cisco ASA to Palo Alto Migration: Handson experience with migrating from Cisco ASA firewalls to Palo Alto firewalls is highly desirable.

  • Security Certifications: Relevant certifications in information security and network security, such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), are advantageous.

  • ProblemSolving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex security issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.

  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
