Our client are a prominent player in HealthTech, utilizing state-of-the-art AI and Computational Science to revolutionize drug discovery. They are currently hiring an Associate Director of GenAI and Data Science to join their Cambridge, MA team, offering a distinctive chance to spearhead scientific progress in Generative AI, advancing the frontiers of disease comprehension and drug development.


  • As the Associate Director of GenAI and Data Science, you will design, develop, and implement state-of-the-art deep learning AI models tailored for various types of sequence data.

  • You will apply advanced knowledge of foundation models, such as pre-trained and large language models, to craft generative AI applications.

  • Innovate and create novel AI model architectures by incorporating principles from encoder/decoders and other relevant methodologies.

  • Execute and deliver on impactful projects, ensuring the application of applied AI experiments with a strong emphasis on scientific rigor.

  • Serve as a prominent ambassador for AI/Data Science, actively engaging in presenting and publishing articles to promote awareness and understanding of the field.

  • Facilitate collaboration between academia, technology and industry by actively participating in and fostering interdisciplinary teamwork.


  • Masters or PhD degree in computer science or similar. 

  • At least seven years of experience in the complete lifecycle of AI model development, showcasing leadership skills and a track record of publications.

  • In-depth knowledge of AI models such as Transformers, RNNs, and CNNs, particularly in the domains of NLP and sequence data.

  • Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and their diverse applications.

  • Expertise in the application of AI to biology and chemistry, including proficiency in handling knowledge graphs and implementing Graph Neural Networks.

  • Proficiency in Python programming, cloud computing for AI model training and the application of statistical methods for the analysis of AI models.

  • A strong grasp of the intricacies of explainability, bias, and ethical considerations in the application of AI models. 


  • Salary: $190,000 to $280,000 DOE.
