Job: Security Architect w/ Risk Management
Location: Brussels (onsite 2 days per week)
Duration: 6 months
Day Rate: €600-800 p/d 

Our client are a Brussels based transport business and they are hiring a highly skilled and experienced Security Architect with a strong background in project and risk management to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing security solutions that safeguard the organization's information systems and assets with particular attention to GDPR compliance. This role requires a deep understanding of security architecture principles, project management methodologies, and risk management practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive security architecture that aligns with organizational goals and industry best practices.

  • Design, review, and implement security controls across various technology stacks, ensuring the protection of sensitive information.

  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential security vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to prioritize and address identified risks, ensuring a proactive and effective risk management approach.

  • Help to develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements such as ISO27001, NIST, NIS2 and GDPR.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to security.

  • Communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide guidance on security best practices.

  • Provide input to forensic analysis to determine the root cause of security incidents and recommend improvements to prevent future occurrences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Certifications such as CISM, CIPM or similar are highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption, and authentication protocols.

  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and risk management frameworks.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to diverse audiences.

This is an initial 6-month contract with a high chance of extension. Please share an updated CV if you are able to work in Brussels 2x days per week without requiring any visa sponsorship.
