Quantitative Data Scienist

Our client are an exciting innovator in the Life Sciences industry and they’re hiring a Quantitative Data Scientist to join the team in Chicago. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing digital solutions that directly impact human health, pharmaceutical research and the broader Life Sciences field.

Responsibilities

• As the Quantitative Data Scientist, you will develop and apply machine learning techniques using both proprietary and open-access datasets.

• You will be responsible to leverage large-scale datasets to create statistically driven research hypotheses.

• Utilize statistical methods to rigorously test and validate research hypotheses.

• Offer expert technical guidance and support to customers in experimental design and analysis.

• Collaborate and work independently to create data analysis and machine learning solutions.

• Design, assess and enhance NLP algorithms for large-scale datasets

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science or similar.

• Minimum of three years of industry experience in systems biology

• Strong background in applying machine learning techniques to large-scale datasets.

• Proficient in R or Python.

• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as Torch, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, etc.

• Familiarity with Atlassian JIRA and Large Language Models.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
