Our client, an innovative AI-driven startup, is hiring a Research Scientist to join their team in California. The successful candidate will develop and scale methods to make transformers more interpretable by converting them into more comprehensible representations, thereby improving the company’s understanding and application of Large Language Models.

Responsibilities

As the Research Scientist, you will design and conduct experiments to assess the effectiveness of model mapping techniques.
You will be responsible to analyze and convert models into interpretable programs.
Manage and interpret large datasets from interpretability experiments.
Investigate the internal mechanisms of large language models.
Create and suggest innovative methods for understanding LLM behavior.

Skillset

Passionate about discovering the algorithms underlying intelligence and dedicated to a career focused on exploring model behavior.
Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
Skilled in machine learning algorithms (e.g., PyTorch)
Experience with distributed training frameworks (e.g., PyTorch Lightning, DeepSpeed).
Expertise in writing clean code and knowledgeable in programming languages such as Python.
