Our client are a leading innovator in the Healthcare industry and they are hiring a hands-on Senior Director of Data Science to join the team in North Carolina. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of the data science team and drive innovative applications of machine learning and computer vision to enhance their groundbreaking cancer research platform.

Responsibilities

As the Senior Director of Data Science, you will recruit and mentor a talented data science team, setting strategic goals and encouraging innovation.
You will create and implement machine learning and computer vision solutions to analyze intricate biological data, particularly in cancer biology.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute data-driven strategies for cancer research.
Manage the entire machine learning lifecycle, ensuring the scalability and sustainability of AI/ML systems.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, AI and computational biology to support the organization’s strategic decisions.

Skillset

PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science or related.
At least eight years of industry experience in data science applied to biological problems with at least three years in a leadership role.
Extensive expertise in biology with a strong track record in machine learning and computer vision for biological data analysis.
Proficiency in MLOps and experience with cloud platforms (AWS) for processing large-scale data.
Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
