Our client, an innovative Fintech organization, are hiring a Principal Software Engineer to join their team in New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the architecture and design of their cutting-edge AI Assistant platform, focusing on scalability, performance and seamless integration.

Responsibilities

  • As the Principal Software Engineer, you will lead the architecture and design of the AI Assistant, ensuring scalability, performance and seamless integration.

  • You will serve as the go-to expert for complex technical challenges, providing insights and solutions.

  • Mentor engineers at all levels, promoting a growth mindset and supporting professional development.

  • Contribute to coding, system design, and code reviews while maintaining high software quality standards.

  • Develop, test, and deploy scalable software solutions, focusing on backend and infrastructure components.

  • Collaborate with product management and other teams to drive innovation and align technology with business objectives.

  • Define the technical roadmap and make strategic decisions regarding technology investments.

  • Shape the engineering culture as an early-stage hire, significantly impacting the organization’s future.

Skillset

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent. 

  • At least eight years of software development experience, including three years in a senior technical leadership role.

  • Proven track record in leading distributed teams, with strong expertise in software architecture and cloud technologies.

  • Passionate about solving complex problems and delivering high-quality systems.

  • Skilled in balancing hands-on technical work with strategic oversight, leading by example.

  • Proficient in Python and various databases (Postgres, SQL, MongoDB).

  • Ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

  • A problem-solver mentality and strong communication skills.
