Our client, a leading IT Solutions provider, are hiring a Python Developer to join the team in Virginia on a contract basis. The successful candidate will work on a combination of web development, application support, cloud infrastructure and DevSecOps practices, contributing to the development of high-performance applications that support government data initiatives.

Responsibilities

As the Python Developer, you will design and develop Python-based web applications and services, ensuring they are scalable and maintainable.
Write code that adheres to best practices and meets project requirements.
Develop and deploy web applications, ensuring optimal operational performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine project requirements and deliver comprehensive solutions.
Work with DevOps teams to implement security best practices within the CI/CD pipeline.
Ensure applications and infrastructure are compliant with government regulations and security standards.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues and ensure high availability.
Assist in managing and automating cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability.

Skillset

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
At least five years of experience in Python web development (Python 3.x preferred).
Strong experience in application development and deployment.
Expertise in DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
Experience in supporting the operations and maintenance of websites and infrastructure.
Familiarity with information security principles and compliance requirements.
