Our client, an AI driven startup who are transforming the construction industry, are hiring an NLP Engineer to join the team in New York. The successful candidate will be responsible to develop language models, enhance search, analyze documents, implement entity extraction and optimize performance.

Responsibilities

As the NLP Engineer, you will build and maintain language models specifically designed for the construction industry.
You will enhance search functionality through the application of advanced NLP methods.
Analyze and process a variety of documents, such as text, tables and images.
Design and implement systems for entity extraction and text classification.
Model connections between entities across multiple document formats.
Develop optimized indexing structures to ensure fast and accurate search results.
Conduct experiments to refine and improve NLP model performance.

Skillset

Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Information Retrieval or similar.
At least five years of experience in NLP, specializing in building production-grade systems.
Expertise in Python, ML, and NLP libraries (such as NLTK, spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers).
In-depth knowledge of information retrieval and search technologies (eg. Elasticsearch, graph databases, vector embeddings).
Experience with LLM-based applications and RAG systems in practical environments.
Experience in training or fine-tuning proprietary algorithms.
Proven track record in developing sophisticated agentic LLM applications.
Previous experience working in the construction sector is a plus.
