Our client, a leading FinTech company, are hiring a Staff Backend Engineer to join the team in New York or Colorado. The successful candidate will lead the backend development of their AI platform, focusing on ensuring the scalability and performance of systems that will influence the financial lives of investors around the world.

Responsibilities

As the Staff Backend Engineer, you will design and architect scalable, high-performance backend systems for the AI platform.
Contribute to coding, system design, and code reviews while upholding high-quality standards.
Work closely with product management, DevOps and engineering teams to align technology with business objectives.
Lead continuous improvements in the software development lifecycle.
Help define the technical roadmap and make key strategic technology decisions.
Promote a culture of innovation while ensuring system efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
Play a key role in shaping the company’s engineering culture.

Skillset

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar.
Minimum of seven years of experience in backend software development.
Extensive expertise in backend infrastructure, software architecture and cloud technologies.
Proficient in Python and experienced with databases like Postgres, SQL and MongoDB.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with shifting priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player.
