Our client, an AI-driven startup tackling some of the world’s most complex challenges, is hiring a Founding Machine Learning Engineer to join their team in California. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping their AI platform at the cutting edge of innovation, while upholding the highest standards of security, transparency and efficiency for customers.

Responsibilities

As the Founding ML Engineer, you will be responsible to design and build scalable machine learning infrastructure.
Develop custom models and classifiers using ML, deep learning and advanced algorithms.
Utilize cutting-edge deep learning techniques to improve performance and effectiveness.
Integrate, deploy, test and validate AI models in real-world applications.
Write and maintain high-quality, production-ready code.
Collaborate closely across other teams to develop and implement AI solutions.

Skillset

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar.
At least 5 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist or Software Developer within a startup environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead ML products or features from concept to measurable business impact.
Expertise in large-scale software architecture and ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras.
Strong knowledge of Transformer models and LLM concepts (Prompt Engineering, RAG, fine-tuning).
Proficiency in Python and databases such as NoSQL and/or SQL.
Expertise in Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Excellent communication skills with a proactive, results-driven mindset.
