ServiceNow Senior Configuration Manager

Our client, an established IT Services company, are hiring a Senior ServiceNow Configuration Manager to join the team in Virginia on a contract basis. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic Agile environment, overseeing the seamless deployment of system changes, ensuring stability, and upholding ITSM best practices.

Responsibilities

• As the Senior ServiceNow Configuration Manager, you will establish and enforce naming conventions, version control and structured update set guidelines.

• Ensure update sets are correctly scoped and deployed to the appropriate environments.

• Maintain detailed logs and resolve any merge conflicts.

• Verify updates in sub-production environments before promoting them to production.

• Coordinate update releases with change management schedules.

• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and ITIL standards.

• Leverage ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) for update validation.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline update set management.

• Integrate ServiceNow with Git for enhanced version control.

• Collaborate with developers, admins and release managers to ensure seamless operations.

Skillset

• U.S. Citizenship with active DoD Secret clearance is required.

• Security+ (or equivalent) certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.

• On-site presence required at Scott AFB, IL, Fort Meade, MD, or Hill AFB, UT.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow administration and configuration management.

• Experience in Agile development teams (Scrum Master or Development role preferred).

• Expertise in ServiceNow update set management and configuration best practices.

• Proficiency in Agile project management tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.).

• Familiarity with ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).

• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent knowledge. AWS Cloud certifications are a plus.

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience briefing customers and stakeholders.
