ServiceNow ITOM/Azure Monitoring Engineer

Our client, a leading IT Consulting firm, are hiring a ServiceNow ITOM/Azure Monitoring Engineer to join their team remotely on a 3 to 6-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and supporting applications in the Azure Cloud and integrating monitoring data with ServiceNow ITOM.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement standards for monitoring and supporting Azure applications using SCOM, Azure Monitor and other relevant tools.

• Design, deploy and manage synthetic and application performance monitoring solutions.

• Establish monitoring baselines for Azure SaaS, PaaS and IaaS to facilitate efficient troubleshooting and issue resolution.

• Integrate Azure Monitor alerts with ServiceNow ITOM to ensure prompt incident response.

• Develop and maintain monitoring and reporting dashboards for visibility into application and infrastructure health.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve complex application and infrastructure issues.

• Provide technical support for cloud-based applications and services.

• Document monitoring processes, procedures and troubleshooting workflows for consistency and knowledge sharing.

• Continuously enhance monitoring and support processes through automation, optimization and best practices.

Skillset

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or similar.

• Proven experience with SCOM and Azure Monitor for application and infrastructure monitoring.

• Strong expertise in Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments.

• Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect) are advantageous.

• Experience integrating monitoring solutions with ServiceNow event management.

• Ability to create and maintain monitoring and reporting dashboards.

• Familiarity with Splunk for log analysis is highly desirable.

• Experience with scripting and automation tools.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
