Operations Engineer II

The Operations Engineer II is tasked with the express purpose of automating various workflows with the goal of eliminating vain, repetitive tasks. You will be challenged to utilize many different scripting languages as well as build familiarity with SOAR and Cloud SecOps Platforms. This unique role requires you to think outside the box in order to solve some of the industry's most complex SecOps problems as it relates to SecOps Engineering and SIEM management. This position is virtual / remote working from a home office unless traveling to a corporate office.


Position Responsibilities

  • Advanced troubleshooting and configuration of Splunk 
  • Advanced troubleshooting and configuration of Linux OS
  • Troubleshooting for automations and playbooks
  • Scripting with Ansible, Python, and Bash (Powershell optional) as it relates to Splunk, and Operations Engineering
  • Automation of processes that are repeatable as it pertains to Splunk and Operations Engineering

Required Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • 3+ years Splunk administration experience and/or Splunk Certifications (Architect / Admin preferred)
  • 3+ years Linux Systems Administration (CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of enterprise network architecture/administration
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Splunk Administration
  • Experience in operational support in cybersecurity or information technology operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills both in a technical capacity and with an excellent customer service mentality
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, and/or Powershell
  • Proficiency in Architecting Splunk Environments
  • Proficiency in building Splunk apps/addons
  • Proficiency in version control (git, bitbucket)
  • Current Splunk Architect certification
  • Experience in leading technical projects while providing key deliverables and outcomes of those projects
  • Experience automating repetitive tasks
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen in accordance with applicable laws

Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Managed Services or Professional Services experience
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Degree in Information Security, Information Technology or a related field

Colorado Candidates:

Minimum salary of one hundred twenty four thousand dollars + stock options + benefits. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
