Job Title:

Research Scientist, Computational Enzyme Engineering


* Specialize in Machine Learning and Computational Protein design
* Have Deep experience in protein modeling or design
* Play a large part in their R&D team
* Design libraries to make enzymes more stable and soluble
* Predict enzyme mutations
* Assist with maintaining the computational hardware and software for bioengineering 
* Partner with the scientific team to discuss the results of your work
* Create predictive models for enzyme engineering with machine learning & deep learning


Required qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Biostatistics, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline
  • Experience with one or more of the protein modeling and design software such as Schrodinger, Rosetta, Discovery Studio, MOE, GROMACS, Amber, or NAMD
  • Experience with protein visualization software such as PyMOL
  • Statistics training and experience in data science methods (random forest, support vector machine, clustering, neural networks and deep learning)
  • Knowledge of database management systems such as Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL
  • Fluent in programming in a Linux environment using Python, other programming proficiency desirable


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience using computational tools to improve enzyme activity and specificity
  • Experience developing prediction models with machine-learning/deep-learning techniques
