AI in Action E419: Gary Velasquez, CEO at Cogitativo
AI in Action, Podcast | February 10 2023 | JP Valentine
Welcome to episode 419 of the AI in Action podcast, the show where we break down the hype and explore the impact that Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence are making on our everyday lives.
Powered by Alldus International, our goal is to share with you the insights of technologists and data science enthusiasts to showcase the excellent work that is being done within AI in North America and Europe.
Today’s guest is Gary Velasquez, Chief Executive Officer at Cogitativo in Berkeley, CA. Spanish for meditative and contemplating, Cogitativo was founded in 2015 with the purpose of thinking deeply about the issues affecting the healthcare system. It is their mission to improve the healthcare system by helping their clients make sense of complex data so they can answer their most challenging questions.
Using a challenge-based learning approach, Cogitativo’s data scientists connect their client’s disparate, noisy data and then develop customized solutions that allow clients to look deeply into their business. Just as an MRI is able to see what is happening inside the human body, their ‘data science as a service’ model quickly visualizes their client’s business enabling them to solve their most intractable problems.
In the episode, Gary will discuss:
The interesting work he does with Cogitativo
The journey of building the company from the ground up
Current make-up of the team
Upcoming projects and milestones they are working towards
What the future holds for Cogitativo
To find out more about all the great work happening at Cogitativo, check out the website www.cogitativo.com or follow them on LinkedIn or Twitter @Cogitativo. You can also connect with Gary directly on LinkedIn.
