The Podcast

Welcome to episode 549 of the AI in Action podcast, the show where we break down the hype and explore the impact that Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence are making on our everyday lives.

Powered by Alldus International, our goal is to share with you the insights of technologists and data science enthusiasts to showcase the excellent work that is being done within AI in North America and Europe.

Today’s guest is Dave DeCaprio, CTO at mbue. Founded in 2022, mbue helps Architecture, Engineering and Construction firms build better businesses by providing AI-based quality control tools. Their product is a web based application that utilizes AI to instantly review technical drawings in PDF format, which will save their customers tremendous amounts of time and money, increase their quality of services and reduce their risk exposure. It’s like “autocorrect” but for construction documents and technical drawings.

Dave is an AI expert with over 25 years experience in converting academic research into thriving enterprises. Previously the co-founder of ClosedLoop.ai, he has led multiple successful startups and cutting-edge technology teams at MIT. Dave’s experience spans genome research, pharmaceutical development, health insurance, computer vision, sports analytics, speech recognition, transportation logistics, operations research, real time collaboration, robotics and financial markets.

In this episode, Dave talks about:

His journey from to MIT grad to AI expert across various industries

AI-powered quality control for large-scale construction projects

Early-stage with key customers, solving costly construction document errors

Industry-focused AI problem-solving with strategic tech adoption

Automating construction QA to let architects focus creatively

Recruiting tech talent through impactful, unique architecture AI solutions

Looking for talent with architecture, construction and AI expertise
