CMDB & ITOM Architect – ServiceNow Telco Project

Job Description – CMDB Architect (ServiceNow ITOM) (m/f/d)

We are looking for a CMDB Architect (ServiceNow ITOM) to lead the design and implementation of an enterprise CMDB, in a Telco Environment. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of the ServiceNow CMDB

• Define the overall approach, make key design decisions, and review/validate deliverables from third-party vendors

• Implement selected CMDB components to demonstrate best practices

• Ensure a high-quality, sustainable CMDB aligned with operational IT needs

• Align CMDB design with ITSM/ITOM processes and stakeholders

Required Skills (Must-Haves)

• Extensive hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB implementations in large-scale environments

• Strong expertise in CMDB architecture & CI data modeling (classes, relationships, dependencies, service hierarchies)

• Proven track record in multi-source CMDB integration, consolidation, and complex reconciliation

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Discovery (schedules, patterns, credentials)

  • Service Mapping (topologies, business service views)

  • CMDB Health (dashboards, reconciliation rules, normalization)

  • CSDM v4/v5

• Integration expertise: MID Server, REST APIs, Import Sets, Integration Hub

• Understanding of ITSM/ITOM touchpoints (Incident, Change, Problem, Request, Asset)

• Fluent English (spoken and written)

Nice-to-Have / Advantage

• Background in telecommunications or network infrastructure

• Experience with tools such as TNI, StableNet, FNT Command, SolarWinds, Ansible

• Exposure to cloud/infrastructure environments: Azure, AWS, GCP, VMware vCenter

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks: ISO 27001, NIS2, DORA

Certifications

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)

• ServiceNow CIS – CMDB or Discovery

• ITIL v4 Foundation (preferred)

• Modules: ITOM Core, Discovery, Service Mapping, CMDB Health, Integration Hub

• Scripting: JavaScript, Glide API

• Interfaces: REST/SOAP, MID Server, JSON/XML
