Our client, an AI-driven startup transforming the healthcare sector, is hiring a Senior/Staff Product Manager to join the team in San Francisco. The successful candidate will define and lead the next generation of the company’s AI developer platform, building on industry-leading integrations with Anthropic’s Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Salesforce to connect unified health records with leading payers and digital health applications.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the product vision and roadmap for evolving the company’s MCP Server into a comprehensive AI SDK, expanding from data retrieval to clinically grounded insights and action-oriented capabilities.

  • Own the product strategy for the company’s clinical data knowledge graph, defining how AI agents understand and navigate relationships across FHIR resources, including conditions, medications, labs, encounters, care plans, goals and their temporal relationships.

  • Shape an exceptional AI developer experience, designing SDKs, tools, skills, prompts, structured artifacts and composable MCP capabilities that enable developers to build powerful health AI applications.

  • Define the insight-to-action journey, enabling AI agents to identify care gaps, follow-up needs, preventive opportunities and appropriate next steps for patients.

  • Develop the product strategy for connecting AI-generated insights to real-world care delivery, including providers, laboratories, pharmacies, specialists, telehealth platforms and care navigation services.

  • Ensure SDK capabilities are built on the company’s identity, consent, authorization and data provenance infrastructure, ensuring patients remain in control of how their health data is accessed and used.

  • Identify, evaluate and build strategic ecosystem partnerships that expand the SDK’s ability to connect patients with relevant healthcare providers, services and solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design and Clinical teams to translate product strategy into clear requirements, technical specifications, and production-ready capabilities.

  • Own launch readiness, adoption and product success metrics, using developer and customer feedback to continuously improve the platform and accelerate adoption.

Skillset

  • At least 7 years of technical product management experience, including a minimum of 3 years working across healthcare data, AI/ML platforms, developer infrastructure or related technologies.

  • Deep expertise in the FHIR data model and the relationships between clinical resources, ideally with experience developing products using EHR data at scale.

  • Strong understanding of the AI developer ecosystem, including MCP servers, agent frameworks, prompt engineering, tool and skill registries, structured outputs and emerging AI development platforms.

  • Proven experience building and managing developer-facing products, including SDKs, APIs, platforms or technical infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate at Staff or Principal level, owning product strategy from initial vision through execution, launch and ongoing optimization.

  • Strong ability to translate complex clinical data into actionable insights, recommendations and next-best actions.

  • Understanding of identity, consent, authorization, auditability and data provenance, particularly within healthcare or other highly regulated environments.

  • Proven experience developing and managing strategic technology and ecosystem partnerships, ideally within healthcare or digital health.

  • Excellent technical communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams and translate complex technical concepts into clear product requirements.

  • A strong builder’s mindset, with the ability to thrive in an early-stage environment, navigate ambiguity, make decisive product decisions, and move quickly from concept to production.
