Senior ServiceNow Developer ITOM ITAM

Our client, a leading IT Services organization, is hiring a Senior ServiceNow Developer with skills in ITOM and ITAM to join the team remotely on a contract basis. The successful candidate will lead the design, development and implementation of enterprise-level ServiceNow solutions, driving enhanced visibility, automation, and management of IT infrastructure and assets.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure and customize ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping across on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments.

• Deploy and optimize ITAM modules (Software and Hardware Asset Management) to automate the entire asset lifecycle.

• Improve visibility of business services through comprehensive discovery and accurate dependency mapping.

• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the CMDB, ensuring alignment with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).

• Build and manage integrations with external systems using REST, SOAP and other APIs.

• Develop custom workflows, business rules, and UI scripts to drive process automation and operational efficiency.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Discovery, CMDB and Event Management functionality.

• Optimize discovery configurations, including patterns and credential management, to enhance infrastructure coverage.

• Partner with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into scalable technical solutions.

• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, ensuring compliance with ITIL standards and organizational policies.

Skillset

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar.

• Over 5 years of ServiceNow development experience, including at least 3 years specializing in ITOM and ITAM.

• Certified ServiceNow System Administrator (CSA) required, as well as two ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications.

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or committed to obtaining certification within six months of hire.

• Demonstrated expertise in implementing and managing ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB and third-party integrations.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API and advanced ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Client Scripts).

• In-depth knowledge of the ServiceNow ITOM suite, including Discovery, Service Mapping and Event Management.

• Practical experience with Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM), including license tracking and lifecycle automation.

• Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated cloud discovery tools.

• Comfortable working within Agile frameworks and using tools such as Jira and ServiceNow Agile Development.
