Our client, an innovator in the sports industry, is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join the team in New York. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the CTO to define the technical roadmap for their SaaS platform and have the opportunity to grow into a leadership position as the team scales.

Responsibilities

As the Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible to architect and maintain new backend APIs.
Implement integrations with external platforms such as Salesforce, Asana, Dynamics, and Google Calendar.
Develop backend data pipelines (ETL, BigQuery) to support advanced analytics and reporting.
Strengthen and secure APIs to safeguard sensitive sponsorship data and ensure compliance.

Skillset

Proficient in Python with solid hands-on experience.
Expertise in designing RESTful APIs (Flask or FastAPI; ORM experience is a plus).
Experienced in integrating third-party platforms and working with OAuth.
Comfortable with modern development workflows: Git, GitHub and AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. Cursor).
Familiarity with Google Cloud, particularly Firebase (Hosting, Firestore – NoSQL) is a bonus.
Experience building data pipelines, ETL processes and working with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery a plus).
