Zero Trust Strategic Communications Specialist
Location: Herndon, VA (Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite)
Contract: 12 Months
Our client, a leading Digital Transformation services firm, are hiring a Strategic Communications Specialist with specialized expertise in Zero Trust technology and a proven track record of supporting federal government initiatives. This role will focus on developing and executing strategic communication plans to advocate for, educate about, and drive adoption of Zero Trust principles within government agencies.
Responsibilities

Create comprehensive communication strategies to effectively convey the benefits, principles, and importance of Zero Trust technology within federal government contexts.

Develop engaging and informative content, including articles, whitepapers, presentations, and infographics, translating complex Zero Trust concepts into easily understandable materials for diverse audiences.

Cultivate relationships with stakeholders at various levels within government agencies, collaborating to promote Zero Trust initiatives, address concerns, and garner support for adoption.

Design and conduct training sessions, workshops, and educational seminars to increase awareness and understanding of Zero Trust technology among government personnel.

Craft compelling messaging and branding strategies to effectively position Zero Trust initiatives, ensuring consistency and alignment with government objectives.
Skillset

Strong knowledge of Zero Trust frameworks, principles and best practices.

Demonstrated experience in strategic communications, public affairs or stakeholder engagement within government or highly regulated sectors.

Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for technical and non-technical audiences alike.

Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with experience delivering training and workshops to large and varied audiences.

Skilled in stakeholder management, consensus-building, and cross-functional collaboration.

Familiarity with federal cybersecurity policies, mandates, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA, TIC 3.0, FedRAMP) a plus.

Prior experience in a federal consulting, cybersecurity policy or communications role highly desirable.
