Zero Trust Senior Network Subject Matter Expert
Location: Virginia (On-site 3 days per week)
Contract Length: 12 Months

Our client, a leading IT services and consulting firm, is hiring an experienced Zero Trust Senior Network SME to join the team in Virginia on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will support a high-profile federal government initiative in the DMV area where you will be responsible for designing, architecting and implementing Zero Trust frameworks to enhance and modernize government cybersecurity systems.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement comprehensive Zero Trust network solutions.
  • Guide network segmentation, enforce secure access controls and champion full-scale Zero Trust adoption.
  • Partner with federal stakeholders to enhance cybersecurity posture and ensure alignment with Zero Trust strategies.
  • Develop detailed architecture diagrams, data flow models, and control mappings.
  • Conduct Zero Trust readiness assessments and convert insights into practical, actionable recommendations.

Skillset

  • Deep expertise in Zero Trust principles, frameworks and implementation models.
  • Familiarity with standards and guidelines such as NIST SP 800-207, CISA ZTMM or OMB M-22-09.
  • Proven experience in creating phased Zero Trust adoption roadmaps spanning identity, device, network, application and data domains.
  • Strong understanding of data classification, continuous authentication and least-privilege access enforcement.
  • Experience applying Zero Trust strategies in hybrid or multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is an advantage.
  • Excellent ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively in federal or government settings.
