ServiceNow Developer – Mid level Custom Apps

Our client, an IT Services firm specializing in the legal sector, are hiring an experienced ServiceNow Custom Applications Developer to join the team in Chicago on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building and deploying bespoke solutions on the ServiceNow App Engine, including the development of workflows, integrations, automation and customised user interfaces that enable key business operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom applications using App Engine Studio, Flow Designer and scoped application frameworks.

• Create custom tables, data models, workflows, forms and user interface components tailored to business needs.

• Develop application logic for routing, assignment, dispatching and fulfilment processes.

• Author and maintain complex business rules, script includes, client scripts and UI actions.

• Build and manage REST/SOAP integrations with external systems.

• Implement Automated Test Framework (ATF) scenarios to ensure quality and support regression testing.

• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintain platform health and remain upgrade-safe.

• Work closely with product owners and business analysts to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs.

• Provide support for troubleshooting, resolving defects and continuously improving custom applications.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation, architectural diagrams and deployment artefacts.

Skillset

• Minimum of 3 years of ServiceNow development experience, with proven expertise in custom application development.

• Strong skills in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting.

• Experience with Field Service Management (FSM) concepts, including dispatching, assignment and work order lifecycle, is a plus.

• ServiceNow CSA and CAD certifications are desirable.
