Founding Engineer, Full Stack

Our client, an emerging AI startup within the digital media sector, is hiring a hands-on Founding Engineer to join their New York team. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the user experience and product journey, delivering a product that is polished, performant and intuitive.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and refine their core video-based product with a focus on polish and usability.

• Own end-to-end UX quality, including animations, performance, interactions and visual detail.

• Collaborate across the full codebase, contributing beyond the frontend as needed.

• Work directly with users to gather feedback and iterate quickly on features.

• Help shape early engineering standards, best practices and overall product direction.
   

Skillset

• At least 2 years of experience as a software engineer in a startup environment.

• Strong TypeScript and frontend engineering fundamentals.

• Comfortable ramping quickly in new and evolving codebases.

• High sense of ownership with a proactive, self-starting mindset.

• Strong eye for UX and product quality, with attention to detail.

• Enjoys balancing focused execution with creative, exploratory feature development.

Benefits
