Our client, an exciting Healthtech startup, are hiring a Founding Engineer to join their team in San Francisco. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with medical teams to uncover real-world challenges and translate them into elegant, resilient technical solutions. You will move quickly in a 0?1 environment, take ownership of architectural decisions and play a key role in shaping both the product and the engineering culture from the very beginning.

Responsibilities

Work closely with EMS (Emergency Medical Services) teams to gain a deep understanding of their challenges.
Develop customer-facing functionality across three core products.
Take full ownership of the development lifecycle, from system design through to deployment.
Drive key technical decisions that will influence the product and company long term.
Contribute to building the engineering culture and support hiring future team members.

Skillset

Minimum of 3 years’ experience building full-stack products end-to-end.
Strong React skills with solid design and UX sensibilities.
Experience working with APIs and LLM/RAG architectures.
Proven ability to own projects from architecture through to deployment.
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving 0?1 environment without a playbook.
Product-minded, with strong instincts for what great software looks and feels like.
Previous experience in a high-ownership or early-stage environment is a bonus.
Familiarity with Go, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud, or exposure to Public Safety/Healthcare domains is plus.
