Our client, an award-winning Legal Tech company, is hiring a Backend Engineer to join their team remotely. The successful candidate will join an early-stage team and play a pivotal role in developing AI-driven technology that is shaping the future of the legal industry.

Responsibilities

Partner with product and customer-facing teams to enhance and evolve platform features.
Take ownership of projects to build, optimize and maintain the web application and Microsoft Word add-in.
Produce clean, scalable and well-documented code.
Architect and improve backend systems across Azure and AWS, prioritizing performance, security and accessibility.
Explore and assess different technical solutions to inform product decisions.
Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, sales and customer success teams.
Support, mentor or manage team members as the organization grows.

Skillset

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar.
Minimum of three years of experience in software development with hands-on skills with Python.
Experience working with Docker and containerised environments.
Ability to build and deploy services on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
Experience working with NoSQL databases and file/blob storage systems, particularly within AWS or Azure.
Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Pytest, Jest or Cypress.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working with Agile methodologies and product management tools.
