Our client, an AI-driven healthcare company focused on personalizing patient care, is hiring a Member of Technical Staff to join their team remotely. The successful candidate will help build and scale the AI and data systems powering next-generation primary care solutions, working closely with the core platform from day one while helping shape both the technical architecture and overall product direction.

Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize AI agent workflows capable of complex reasoning, tool use and decision-making.

  • Design guardrails, fallback mechanisms and escalation pathways to ensure safe patient-facing AI experiences.

  • Develop and launch AI-powered product features from concept through to production.

  • Improve retrieval systems to deliver accurate, traceable and explainable medical information.

  • Enhance search quality, citation accuracy and data lineage across clinical knowledge systems.

  • Rebuild and streamline data pipelines to improve reliability, integrity and freshness of healthcare data.

  • Develop low-latency voice AI systems for clinical intake, triage and patient follow-up interactions.

  • Build monitoring, analytics and observability systems to track AI performance, reliability and production health.

  • Fine-tune foundation and multimodal models using clinical datasets to improve safety, accuracy and user experience.

  • Create robust evaluation and training frameworks, including automated testing and human-in-the-loop feedback systems.

Skillset

  • Strong software engineering skills with a focus on Python development.

  • Proven experience designing and deploying production-grade AI/ML systems.

  • Solid understanding of PostgreSQL, including JSONB structures and vector-based search capabilities.

  • Experience working with AWS and distributed cloud architecture.

  • Practical experience integrating LLM APIs and delivering AI-driven product features.

  • Familiarity with frameworks and tooling such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, vLLM, Axolotl or similar technologies.

  • Experience developing AI agents, autonomous workflows or RAG-based systems.

  • Exposure to voice AI, multimodal applications or medical imaging technologies is a plus.

  • Comfortable operating across infrastructure, backend engineering and product-focused workflows.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and systems-thinking skills.
