Position: Security Architect (Contract)
Location: Dublin; 3 / 4 days per week onsite
Contract Duration: 6-12 months initial
Start Date: ASAP

Overview:
A leading consultancy is looking to engage a Contract Security Architect with deep cloud expertise to support a high-impact enterprise security transformation program. This role offers the opportunity to work in a regulated, large-scale environment where you’ll design and advise on secure architectures across multi-cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

You’ll be joining a multidisciplinary team focused on enhancing cloud security posture, implementing robust controls, and aligning solutions with industry best practices and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop secure cloud architectures tailored to complex enterprise environments.

  • Conduct threat modeling, architecture risk assessments, and security reviews for cloud-native and hybrid workloads.

  • Define and implement cloud security standards, policies, and best practices.

  • Partner with DevOps, infrastructure, and compliance teams to embed security throughout the CI/CD pipeline and software development lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Provide expert guidance on IAM (Identity and Access Management), encryption strategies, network segmentation, and workload protection.

  • Support the deployment of cloud security monitoring, logging, and incident response mechanisms.

  • Ensure cloud architecture aligns with frameworks such as NIST, CIS Benchmarks, ISO 27001, and various regulatory compliance needs.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in cybersecurity, with significant experience in cloud security architecture.

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.

  • Expertise in cloud-native security tools, IAM, encryption, network security, and container security.

  • Experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD tools, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, FedRAMP, or GDPR.

  • Ability to lead architecture discussions, work independently, and produce detailed technical documentation.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, Google Cloud Security Engineer).

  • Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or SABSA.

  • Experience working in regulated sectors such as healthcare, finance, or government.

  • Previous consulting or client-facing experience is highly advantageous.


Contract Details:

  • Location: Hybrid (onsite 3–4 days/week)

  • Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)

  • Contract Length: 6–12 months, with potential extension

  • Rate: Competitive, based on experience
