Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Platform Architect to lead the design, architecture, and governance of a complex enterprise ServiceNow environment. This is a fully remote contract opportunity open to candidates located anywhere in Canada.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise across the ServiceNow platform with experience architecting scalable, cross-platform solutions that integrate with enterprise systems. Experience with IT Operations Management (ITOM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the overall ServiceNow platform architecture and technical roadmap.
  • Design scalable, secure, and maintainable ServiceNow solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead architecture decisions across multiple ServiceNow products and enterprise integrations.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership to translate requirements into architectural solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and governance for platform development, integrations, and upgrades.
  • Establish best practices for development, configuration management, security, and platform performance.
  • Review solution designs and code to ensure adherence to architectural standards.
  • Design and oversee integrations with enterprise applications, cloud platforms, identity providers, and third-party systems.
  • Support platform modernization initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Mentor developers and technical consultants on ServiceNow architecture and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of ServiceNow platform experience with at least 3 years in an Architecture role.
  • Extensive experience designing enterprise-scale ServiceNow implementations.
  • Strong expertise across multiple ServiceNow modules and platform capabilities.
  • Experience with ServiceNow IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, and enterprise integrations.
  • Strong understanding of CMDB architecture and ServiceNow data model.
  • Experience developing cross-platform solutions integrating ServiceNow with cloud, infrastructure, ERP, HR, or identity management platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and ServiceNow development best practices.
  • Experience leading technical architecture workshops and providing platform governance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IT Operations Management (ITOM) including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB optimization.
  • Experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) including Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM).
  • Experience with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience in large enterprise or highly regulated environments.

Certifications (Required)

Candidates must possess a minimum of two active ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications.

Preferred certifications include:

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • CIS – IT Service Management (ITSM)
  • CIS – Discovery
  • CIS – Service Mapping
  • CIS – IT Operations Management (ITOM)
  • CIS – Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
  • CIS – Software Asset Management (SAM)

Nice to Have

  • ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Certified Master Architect (CMA)
  • Experience with Platform Governance and Center of Excellence (CoE) initiatives.
  • Experience supporting enterprise digital transformation programs.
