Our client, a venture-backed AI startup, is hiring a Founding Engineer to join the team in New York City. The successful candidate will work closely with the founding team to improve the core product and build the next-generation AI-powered software that enables field-based professionals to work more efficiently, increase productivity and spend less time on administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

Design, build and ship full-stack products and features from 0-1.
Engage directly with customers and end users to understand needs, gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
Translate customer feedback into impactful product enhancements.
Support product deployments, implementations and user onboarding where required.
Take ownership of the design, development and launch of new products and capabilities.
Build scalable, high-performance systems that can support a growing customer base.
Develop and integrate reliable AI capabilities into real-world products and workflows.
Contribute across the technology stack and take ownership of the highest-priority technical and business challenges.
Work closely with the founding team to shape engineering practices, technical architecture and product direction.

Skillset

Minimum of 3 years of full-stack software engineering experience, ideally in an early-stage startup, or a proven track record of independently building and launching products used by real customers.
Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript/React.
Strong understanding of AI technologies and hands-on experience with modern AI development tools.
Proven experience developing, deploying and supporting production-grade software.
Solid knowledge of scalable system design, data pipelines and application architecture.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
