The Alldus Podcast2 (4) (1)

Welcome to episode 206 of the AI in Action podcast, the show where we break down the hype and explore the impact that Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence are making on our everyday lives.

Powered by Alldus International, our goal is to share with you the insights of technologists and data science enthusiasts to showcase the excellent work that is being done within AI in the United States and Europe.

Today's guest is Charles Fisher, Founder & CEO at Unlearn.AI in San Francisco. Founded in 2017, Unlearn.AI helps biopharma companies develop drugs more ethically and efficiently by leveraging generative machine learning models to reduce the number of patients required for placebo controls in clinical trials. They enable clinical trials that are twice as fast, require fewer patients, produce better evidence about therapeutic efficacy, and in which fewer patients need to be given placebos.

In the episode, Charles will tell you about:

The motivation for setting up Unlearn.AI

How they have evolved and the interesting work they do within healthcare

How the Data Science team is structured for success

Challenges they need to overcome

Plans for growth and what the future looks like

Advice to Data Scientists transitioning from academia into industry
