Our client, an innovator in the Utilities industry, is hiring a Commissioning Manager on a contract basis in San Antonio. The successful candidate will play a leading role in a major AI data centre power generation project, leading a skilled team to deliver work safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee commissioning teams across a range of industrial projects.

  • Manage the full commissioning lifecycle, ensuring safe, efficient and successful project delivery.

  • Work closely with clients, contractors, engineers and vendors to align objectives and address challenges.

  • Develop and maintain Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules to track timelines and key milestones.

  • Utilize tools such as CxAlloy, Hexagon or similar platforms to monitor progress and document commissioning activities.

  • Prepare comprehensive commissioning plans, procedures and reports.

  • Carry out site visits before, during, and after commissioning to provide technical oversight and support.

  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks while ensuring strict compliance with safety standards.

  • Deliver regular project updates, highlighting progress, risks and key issues to stakeholders and senior leadership.

  • Support, mentor and develop junior team members, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional growth.

Skillset

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar.

  • At least 5 years of experience in commissioning management within the power generation sector.

  • Experience in industries such as refineries, gas compressor stations, substations or data centres is highly desirable.

  • Strong working knowledge of commissioning software, including CxAlloy, Hexagon or similar platforms.

  • Proven ability to read, interpret and manage Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules.

  • Excellent communication, organizational and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in fast-paced, complex project environments.

  • Willingness to travel in line with project requirements.
