Data Scientist

Our client, a global life sciences organisation, are hiring a Data Scientist to join their team in Dublin on a contract basis. The successful candidate will develop and deploy advanced data science and generative AI solutions to solve real-world business challenges within a complex, highly regulated company.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality analytics and machine learning solutions using Python.

• Develop and implement generative AI applications using Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation and related technologies.

• Bring models and features from initial experimentation through testing and deployment into production.

• Ensure all solutions are scalable, reliable, secure and aligned with business requirements.

• Assess model performance and continuously improve solutions using operational results and user feedback.

• Work closely with software engineers, product owners, business stakeholders and IT teams throughout the development lifecycle.

• Translate complex business challenges into practical data science and AI solutions.

• Help drive the adoption of data-led technologies across the organisation.

Skillset

• Advanced proficiency in Python, with experience developing, testing and maintaining production-ready code.

• Practical experience working with Large Language Models and generative AI technologies.

• Strong knowledge of designing and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures.

• Proven experience bringing machine learning models and features from experimentation through to production.

• A solid understanding of scalability, reliability and model performance within production environments.

• Experience delivering end-to-end data science solutions as part of multidisciplinary teams.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Previous experience in life sciences, healthcare or another regulated industry would be an advantage.
