AI in Action E169: Clemens Viernickel, CEO and Co-Founder at SiaSearch
AI in Action, Podcast | January 26 2021 | Mark Kelly
Welcome to episode 169 of the AI in Action podcast, the show where we break down the hype and explore the impact that Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence are making on our everyday lives.
Powered by Alldus International, our goal is to share with you the insights of technologists and data science enthusiasts to showcase the excellent work that is being done within AI in the United States and Europe.
Today’s guest is Clemens Viernickel, CEO and Co-Founder at SiaSearch in Berlin. Building robust, industrial AI like automated driving is extremely difficult. Everyone thinks about algorithms, but up to 75% of engineering time is spent on highly manual tasks, namely manually reviewing and selecting masses of data instead of building algorithms.
That is why Clemens and his team developed SiaSearch, a data management platform which automatically extracts frame-level, contextual metadata and utilizes it for fast data exploration, selection and evaluation. Automating these tasks with metadata can more than double engineering productivity and remove the bottleneck to building industrial AI.
In the episode, Clemens will tell you about:
His journey to founding SiaSearch
Problems they are solving at SiaSearch within data management
The impact of Deep Learning and Computer Vision
Why do data science projects fail?
What the future holds for SiaSearch
