AI in Action E495: Chris Fernandez, Executive Chairman and Chief Research Officer at EnsoData

,  | January 8 2024 | JP Valentine

Welcome to episode 495 of the AI in Action podcast, the show where we break down the hype and explore the impact that Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence are making on our everyday lives.

Powered by Alldus International, our goal is to share with you the insights of technologists and data science enthusiasts to showcase the excellent work that is being done within AI in North America and Europe.

Today’s guest is Chris Fernandez, Executive Chairman and Chief Research Officer at EnsoData in Madison, Wisconsin. Founded in 2015, EnsoData uses artificial intelligence to automate waveform analysis and spotlight disease processes as they manifest over different timescales – whether looking for heart rhythm irregularities over seconds, glycemic index dynamics over minutes, sleep disordered breathing patterns over hours or indicators to preempt heart decompensation over days.

EnsoData’s first solution focuses on sleep medicine and reducing the time to score sleep studies, but the applications are endless. Their software has the capability of informing health decisions from monitoring patient health in the ICU or through wearables, to detecting and capturing seizure data, to earlier detection of heart disease, diabetes, stroke and Alzheimer’s. It is their goal to make healthcare more accurate, efficient and affordable.

In today’s episode, Chris talks about:

His background and journey to founding EnsoData

From FDA clearances to funding and diagnosing millions with AI

An insight into the current team behind their success

The future of sleep data such as wearables and personalized therapies

Seeking innovators to revolutionize AI in healthcare advancements
