Our client, a Series A HealthTech startup, is hiring a talented Senior Backend Software Engineer to join their team in New York. The successful candidate will design, develop and maintain backend services and web applications in order to deliver reliable, compliant systems that enhance efficiency, reduce costs and drive better outcomes for more than 1.5 million patients.
Responsibilities-
Architect, develop and support backend services and web applications.

Create real-time web applications for patient communication via audio and SMS.

Build and manage resilient, long-running workflows for asynchronous and background processes.

Work closely with frontend, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver dependable, compliant systems.
Skillset-
Proven track record of building highly available backend applications in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or compliance-driven SaaS.

Proficient in TypeScript and/or Python for backend service development.

Hands-on experience with Node.js, Express, Mongoose, Twilio or similar frameworks.

Familiarity with Temporal or other distributed workflow orchestration systems (e.g. Cadence, AWS Step Functions, Conductor).

Strong understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, including retries, idempotency, and failure handling.

Practical experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and version control (Git).

Exposure to DevOps practices, containerization, observability and deployment automation is a plus.

Experience in healthcare technology or medium-sized SaaS startups is a bonus.
Benefits-
Salary: $150k - $200k DOE.
