Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Our client, a growing HealthTech organization, is hiring a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join their team in New York. The successful candidate will work closely with enterprise healthcare customers, leading technical delivery from initial discovery through to production deployment, as well as take ownership of building scalable, real-world solutions that translate customer challenges into robust engineering systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site discovery and take ownership of production deployments for healthcare partners.

• Build production-grade integrations with EHR systems.

• Deliver end-to-end solutions, from identifying customer pain points to deploying tailored platform configurations.

• Translate business requirements and workflows into scalable technical implementations.

• Work directly with customer IT teams, DBAs, and analysts to understand and navigate complex environments.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full stack, including databases, APIs, data pipelines and platform configuration.

• Develop tooling and automation to improve deployment efficiency at scale.

• Share customer insights with Engineering and Data Platform teams to help shape product development.

• Design and build full-stack applications using Python, TypeScript/React and PostgreSQL.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Customer Success and Sales teams.

• Maintain high standards of code quality through testing, code reviews and best practices.

Skillset

• At least 8 years’ experience in software engineering, with strong full-stack capabilities.

• Proficient in Python and TypeScript, with a track record of building scalable systems.

• Advanced SQL expertise, including complex querying and performance optimization.

• Proven ability to turn ambiguous business challenges into effective technical solutions.

• Experience integrating with external systems and working within customer data environments.

• Strong communication skills, with confidence engaging directly with enterprise stakeholders.

• Excellent debugging skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.

• Familiarity with healthcare systems, including RCM workflows and data standards.

• Previous experience within healthcare providers or health IT organizations is a bonus.

• Experience in forward-deployed or field engineering roles is a plus.
