Challenges You Will Solve

As a software engineer within Clients Core Platform team, your architectural knowledge and experience will help us design and build the next generation platform and applications. Your technical judgement and experience helps you to solve complex problems with elegant designs allowing us to deliver product on time while maintaining a high standard of quality. 

What You’ll Do

  • Develop major application features for clients platform working in Java to nimbly to write clean elegant code
  • You will work on different parts of our product; everything from our user interface to our customer-facing knowledge base
  • Ensure that standards and principles are adhered to and communicated to other stakeholders on the team
  • Design and deploy apps on Amazon Web Services - AWS environment
  • Identify Performance bottlenecks and use good coding patterns to avoid them in the first place
  • Build web applications and microservices using best practices and are well versed in 12 factor app rules working closely with the product team to refine those features
  • Helping to architect front and back-end frameworks
  • Working with designers and others to understand our users and help guide product decisions
  • Implement standards and practices to improve and maintain code quality
  • Identify gaps in development and help with process improvements, suggesting tools and taking actions to prevent repeat of similar issues
  • Work closely with internal Client  teams on product roadmap changes and new features, and a desire to collaborate with the team

 What You’ll Bring

  • BSCS / MSCS preferred or comparable and a MINIMUM of 2+ years of performance experience in a SaaS or Software entity 
  • History of development of various scalable backend services for external customer facing web and mobile applications
  • Proficient in Java, specifically JDK 8+ and use streaming and lambdas to keep your codebase concise
  • Previous experience with REST applications and services using open-source Java Frameworks - Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Data
  • Previous experience with integration / orchestration like Apache Camel, JBOSS fuse etc
  • Git is where you live, you’re comfortable with Merge and Rebase concepts, refactoring existing codebases with an understanding of existing implementations to decide to refactor or rewrite
  • In the maintenance of pristine code quality practices, you use JUnit and SonarQube 
  • Comfort with AppServers like Tomcat and Netty
  • Proficiency with SQL & NoSQL solutions understanding the pros and cons of relational and free form databases, MySQL and Cassandra a plus
  • You know how to identify Performance bottlenecks and use good coding patterns to avoid them in the first place
  • You’re a strong advocate of good coding standards and preach code-coverage tools like SonarQube
  • Web-based multi-tenant enterprise platforms, AWS or other cloud platforms and web security fundamentals is in your wheelhouse
  • Exposure to working with crypto and encryption technologies is desired
  • You like working in agile methodology and are comfortable with the scrum process
  • Strong attention to detail and a good general sense of design is what drives your work
  • Ambiguity doesn’t scare you, as you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, high-growth environment
  • Experience with fintech, financial applications, banking, or mortgage software products is preferred
  • You’re motivated, creative, and driven to produce results
  • Track record of continuing professional development to keep abreast of latest developments relevant to discipline and industry
