As the ServiceNow CMDB Technical Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in the designing, configuring, and implementation of the ServiceNow Common Services Data Model (CMDB) solutions to meet the clients needs. This role requires a deep understanding of IT asset management, configuration management, and ServiceNow platform capabilities. The CMDB Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the configuration management of ServiceNow Application and Service portfolios are standardized and sustainable. We are looking for a ServiceNow CMDB expert to serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor providing ServiceNow support and guidance to leadership, business partners and internal teams.

This temporary position is a benefits-eligible full-time position.

Experience And Education
 
  • 5-10 years of ServiceNow experience required.

Job Duties
 
  • CMDB Design and Architecture: Design and Implement ServiceNow CMDB solutions that align with service owners' business goals and objectives. Define configuration item (CI) classes, relationships, and attributes to ensure accurate representation of the ITSM landscape.
  • Configuration Item (CI) Discovery: Work with service owners to identify and classify CIs correctly. Develop approaches for CI identification, including automated discovery and manual data entry processes.
  • Data Integration: Integrate CMDB with other ITSM modules and third-party systems to ensure real-time data synchronization and consistency.
  • Relationship Mapping: Create and maintain relationship maps between CIs to provide insights into dependencies and impacts on IT services.
  • Governance and Data Quality: Maintain data governance practices to maintain data accuracy, integrity, and completeness within the CMDB.
  • Change Management: Develop and enforce change management processes for the CMDB to ensure that updates and changes are tracked and approved.
  • Service owner Collaboration: Collaborate with service owners to understand their business processes, requirements, and challenges. Provide expert advice and recommendations to improve their CMDB implementations.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation of CMDB designs, configurations, and processes for service owner reference.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to service owners' teams to ensure effective CMDB utilization and ongoing maintenance.
  • Hybrid work environment, with 1-2 days on-site per week. This is a 1-year assignment with opportunity for transition to a permanent role based on performance and business needs.

  • Participating in customer design sessions focused on ServiceNow Platform, ITSM, Virtual Agent, Teams and Integrations.
  • Working in ServiceNow projects teams and work-streams through discovery, design, build, test, and deployment activities in our deployment methodology
  • Working with a team of both functional and technical consultants through requirements gathering and sprint planning sessions for the ServiceNow applications
  • Be a member of an overall engagement project team focused on delivering successful and substantive customer outcomes.
  • Developing the user stories to support the design and configuration of the portals, Incident, Problem, Change etc.
  • Supporting the iterative configuration of the ITSM and other application, engage stakeholders to conduct demos and reviews through joint design sessions
  • Assisting with executing system validation, and ensuring readiness for deploying the build into production
  • Guiding and providing ad-hoc oversight/training for the customer’s future system administrators throughout the engagement

     
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
 
  • 2+ years of experience in ServiceNow implementations and optimizations
  • 2+ years of experience in the delivery and implementation of at least one ServiceNow applications
  • Experience developing implementation plans in ServiceNow
  • Knowledge of ITIL functions, processes, and best practices
  • Experience in various project management methodologies, ServiceNow SIM, Agile, etc.
  • Experience with a full ITSM/Pro suite implementation
